Evelyn Streater-Frizzle
Northeast District Governor Evelyn Streater-Frizzle was born and reared in Georgetown, South Carolina and attended schools in Georgetown County. She is a graduate of Albertus Magnus College, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) with a concentration in Business and Economics and obtained a master’s
degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management from the University of New Haven.
Gov. Streater-Frizzle retired from Yale University in XXXX after thirty-eight (38) years of dedicated service as an Associate Director in Customer Service. In this role, Gov. Streater-Frizzle managed a staff of over 125 union employee and six (6) managerial staff, providing efficient and effective customer service to her clients. She supported and enhanced operations within the University and managed a 4.5-million-dollar operational budget.
Gov. Streater-Frizzle is a Life member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professorial Women’s Club, Inc., and has devoted over twenty-nine (29) years of service to her local club, The New Haven Club, as well as the Northeast District. She has served on the National Nominating Committee, Credential Chair for the District, and President of her local club for three terms. At the local club, she has also served as the Scholarship Chair, Parliamentarian, Recording Secretary as well as the Founders’ Day Chair.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority Inc, where she has served as the Recording Secretary, and chaired the Ivy Akademy, and the Standards Committee. Gov. Streater-Frizzle is also a member of the Waterbury Chapter of the Links, where she has served as Chaplain, and on the Scholarship committee, and the Arts Faucets
Gov. Streater-Frizzle is a devoted member of the New Haven Church of Christ, New Haven, CT. She has served as chair of the Black History Program, worked in the food pantry, and served holiday meals to the underprivileged from the community.
She has served as Director on the board of Christian Community Action, Homeless Shelter, chaired neighborhood community management team, and provide community tutoring for students and presently serve on the following boards. She is also a member of the Board of Director for the Montessori School on Edgewood, as well as a board member at Marrakech, Inc (Disability Service and Support Organization).
Gov. Streater-Frizzle is an avid traveler and has traveled to China, Egypt, Spain, Italy, Canada, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, and to several Caribbean Island, as well as throughout the United Stated. She is the mother of three children, Katurah, Shayla and Chris and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Gov. Streater-Frizzle is an advocate for children, loves to serve and have devoted her time and efforts to give to others.
